Last week I was on the biggest downer after LA and not a thing could cheer me up, so after a week of moping around me and Lauren from ITLT blog http://www.its-the-little-things.com/ also my LA partner in crime decided to meet up and have a ‘London’ day, starting with the Louboutin exhibition, and a wander over east for a vintage shopping day followed by some food and beer!

Like most London ladies obsessed with the lure of the famous red sole we couldn’t wait and the exhibition did not disappoint! The exhibition celebrates Louboutin’s career showing twenty years of his designs, from the theatrical through to the fetish (my favourite of the bunch) there were stilettos, platforms, studded trainers, brogues, lace up boots, fetish wear, a merry go round of the most gorgeous court shoes and a Hologram show of Dita Von Tease stripping down to her undies and Swarovski Crystal heels. Obviously like in most exhibitions photography is strictly prohibited but I had my iPhone on hand like some secret spy snapping away when no one was looking, we all do it!! (I’ll see if I get in trouble…) And most people were to the annoyance of the museum staff. This is a must see exhibit for anyone who loves Louboutin and wants to know more about the history of his amazing craftsmanship, each section tells an amazing story and I highly recommend a visit.

After that we headed east for a vintage rummage on the tip-off that beyond retro were having a 50% off EVERYTHING SALE! I got a gorgeous new sequin top and oversized grey blazer if I could have been bothered I probably could have got a lot more but we had STREET FEAST on the brain which is just off brick lane which serves just about all the different types of food you can think off, along with cupcakes and beer, I’m not a massive foodie but I recommend this, all the food is amazing and nothing much is over 5 quid.
Christian Louboutin, vintage, greasy burgers and ale…it was exactly the type of day I needed.
